Forgot to mention…

I forgot to mention that on Friday, I had a fantastic meal at Biagio Piccadilly.

If you are ever stuck for where to eat, go to Biagio’s… Scallop and Saffron Pasta for £16… Then got the biggest free brandy!!! Fleur was drunk after her big arse Bailys…

All in all, a great place for food and drink. I promise these blogs are not all going to be about food…

Hello readers,

Well, I’ve always meant to write this blog on a regular basis. Instead it’s when I get the time and that’s not too often. It’s going to be an even more rare sight since my computer exploded in a blue flash and smoke last night. What a sorry state of affairs it is… I’ve been without my computer for a whole 24 hours and I’m already starting to shake. I’m currently writing this on my mothers computer. At least I’m getting my fix until I purchase a new machine for myself. When I look at my burnt out husk of a computer, I realise that I need to get something decent. Maybe similar to those used by NASA…

I’ve not long come back from Spain. I visited with friends and took Fleur along to experience her first Spanish trip. I happen to agree with her. Spain is fairly barren looking. I loved the food and the swimming everyday. I enjoyed not being in the UK. I enjoyed being with Fleur and didn’t really want to go back home and returning to work. I flew out of London City Airport which is only a short distance from my home. Nice gentle trip on the bus and away we go!!! Coming back was interesting. Flying towards London we passed the airport and my home. We flew out to The Oval and down the river Thames, over Canary Wharf and the O2. So, we got a free tour of London before coming home. Now I want to go traveling again. Italy maybe. Dubai or Somewhere I’ve not even thought about. However, before I do that, I need to pay off my Parking ticket and my random purchases on my credit card, which have grown and grown. I need to find some more will power!!!

I have some real concerns about the parking ticket. I got it when I waited at the station for Fleur. However, I’ve done that loads of time. Is this the start of many? All I could think was… Arse Mustard!!!

While watching Stephen Fry on TOP GEAR, he mentioned that he uses TWITTER. I’ve heard loads about it but not dipped my toe into the water. So, I’ve logged in and can see the appeal. If you want to find me, look for, MARK_OLIVER_UK

I’m posting updates to see how I’m getting on with it. It’s similar to the status changes on Facebook and thats all it is really. I have Mr Fry on my contact list. He’s got a keen mind and I enjoyed reading his twits…

I’m now doing weekly conference calls for my company. When I used to attend them, I thought that the whole process was boring and I used to fall asleep. Now that I’m the chair, I’m finding myself slipping into the same habits as the previous hosts. How do I make it more interesing and more engaging??? I get random people calling me or sending me emails, telling me whats wrong with them. However, I get sweet bugging nothing in the way of a good idea to change things for the better. I don’t mind feedback, or as my company calls it… Soul Food. I just wish people would stop playing Fantasy Conference call, without actually doing them. Trying to think of something good to say and offer real support to 16 business teams on how to do things better. All this on top of me not actually getting paid more for doing it… I believe this is known as the thank-less task.

I went to my first BBQ of the year last night. All my friends were there for it and to meet Fleur for the first time. Everything was set for it and at the last minute, Fleur had an allergic reaction to something and came out in a rash. I feel so sorry for her and missed her last night, as did my friends. I also feel sorry for Gary, who hosted the get together. Nipuls son Aaron, cracked his flat screen TV before we left. I would have screamed like a girl, Gary, being tired with his new borns just looked defeted. Accidents will happen!!!

As Fleur is away getting better, I decided I’d visit my parents for a Sunday roast, only to discover yet another BBQ instead… A whole year of nothing and now two in two days… I’m feeling BBQ-ED out… I’ve got the meat sweats once again and a strong desire to sleep.

Sound like a plan….

Not sure when I’ll get back, given the computer side of things but I ask you to do one thing for me. Leave a comment or sign your name to let me know who reads this… I’ve had the most readers on my last blog. I just have no idea who it is.

See you out there people, I’m off to North Wales in a couple of weeks. I’ll post pictures as I go on Facebook and Twitter and report back when it’s all done.

Bye for now…

Mark

Like Arnie said… I’ll be back!!!

Sorry for the delay in writing this Blog but I’ve been fairly busy and I’ll explain why in due course.

Where do I begin…

Well, why have I been so busy? Well, most of my time has been taken up with work. I’m settling in at my new location and the area is not as bad as everyone says it is. The people are nicer and like anything in life, if you treat people how you want to be treated then you tend to be treated with similar respect. However, not always and I’ve had my run in with staff as well as clients. The travel time now is just great. I save 3 hours 50 mins per day in travel. That’s a fair amount of time saved and to spend doing the things that mean so much to me. Like getting my life on track and having some fun for once.

Even though I now work really close to home and have more time on my hands I’ve not written a blog now for some time. I’ve actually been writing to one person instead, someone who in a short space of time has become very important to me. Her name is Fleur and she is like a wish list for my perfect partner. We met using Facebook and an application called, Are you Interested. I have to say that I was certainly was interested in Fleur and so happy when she agreed to meet me for lunch. Since then I’ve thought of little else but her and what’s nice is we speak all the time, text all the time and see each other whenever we can. To describe her in a few words is hard but here goes, she is from Australia, 6ft tall, blonde hair, blue eyes, she is amazing, gorgeous, sexy, intelligent, funny and everything I’ve ever wanted. I truly am a lucky bugger and as my good friend James said the other day. I’m happy for you, Try not to fuck it up!!! Well, I’m going to do my best to make her as happy as she’s made me already. At her request I’m writing this blog again and hope that she’s not too embarrassed when she reads this. I have so much I’d like to say but that’s for Fleur’s ears only… Picture attached…

I recently went for drinks at BAFTA and ended up at a Nelson Mandela charity event with press taking pictures outside and black tie and evening dress inside. Seeing as I was wearing jeans and a truly terrible black shirt I looked somewhat under dressed. The food and company were grand as ever. Apart from seeing MP, Peter Hain and thinking he must be claiming for a second home and the need to have a rocket ship paid for by the tax payer so he can go shopping for swan pie!!!

I also went to a wedding recently. My friend and ex account manager Phil got married to his girl Lisa in Sidcup. I decided as ever to take my camera along and help capture the day. As his and her family crammed themselves into the small room for the ceremony, I began to realise that Nick, Charlotte and I had no room to sit down or even stand as the back. As we resigned ourselves to waiting outside we was ushered to the very front, next to the groom and beside a fully working and on radiator. Now I’m not sure if it was the radiator or the the fact that the whole wedding group was watching us but I sure did sweat for the next 20 minutes. One funny point was an accidental repeat of the wedding vows which would have meant the Phil would have married himself… Other than that the day was very good and seeing my old work chums and having a laugh was a real tonic.

On Friday I went for drinks at the NFT bar and then on to CANTEEN for some dinner. Expensive and good British food, just avoid the rice pudding!!! The one thing to come out of the evening is the planning of a boys long weekend away to North Wales and a visit to Portmeirion, home of my favourite TV show, The Prisoner.

Seeing as I was driving I gave my mate Sam a lift to Liverpool Street station and as he got out of my car he collided with a cyclist and both ended up in the air and then on the ground. Shocked I jumped out of my car and helped Sam up but he was okay. Bruised and shaken with his new pair of glasses broken. The bike was twisted and in bad shape and as the biker got more irate, we left him to carry his bike home. Idiot was going far too fast!!! I’m starting to think that Sam is the terminator. He said the bike only hit his foot!!!

Went to see Star Trek on Saturday night. Very good. Fast pace and cleverly put together to keep old fans like me happy and new ones interested and entertained.

I’m sure I’ve done a million other things since I last wrote but I can’t remember them now. If it comes back to me I’ll add it but I’m sure you’ve all read enough now.

My last thoughts are my mood right now.

I’m blissfully happy and want nothing more…

Until the next time…

M
